Established in Spring 2003 by 11 central associations, the Association of Associations of Slovenia aims to ensure the beneficial state of associations, and to integrate with other related organisations and networks in Slovenia, as well as in the international area. It seeks to establish an environment in which associations and all other non-governmental organisations can develop, establish competency and contribute to the social welfare of Slovenia.

The Association publishes practical information on its website (calls, tenders, NGO database) as well as in its Integrator Magazine (available also online) which presents current issues in the NGO sector.

Members

Its current members are the following organisations: the Automobile Association of Slovenia, the Fire-fighting Association of Slovenia, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia – Association of Sports Federations, the Alpine Association of Slovenia, the Fishing Association of Slovenia, the Tourist Association of Slovenia, the Association of Pensioners of Slovenia, the Associations of Engineers and Technicians of Slovenia, the Union of Cultural Societies of Slovenia (ZKDS),the Slovene Association of Friends of Youth, the Association for Technical Culture of Slovenia, and the Association of Chauffeurs and Car Mechanics of Slovenia. These organisations integrate approximately 12,000 associations from all over Slovenia with approximately one million members, which represents a large proportion of the whole non-governmental sector in Slovenia.
