The Fabula Award for the best Slovene short story collection has been bestowed since 2006 on the occasion of the Fabula Festival of Stories. The festival has been organised since 2004 by Študentska založba Publishing House, Ljubljana in collaboration with the publishing house Dnevnik PLC, publisher of the Dnevnik newspaper, which donates the award.
