Launched in 2005 and run by Celje Youth Centre, Mediafest, festival of contemporary music and digital arts is a visual as well as audio event that aims to stimulate urban culture in the city of Celje. It presents live acts that are documented on the web, thus also promoting web culture. The 2007 festival presented numerous live acts, including VJ Mateja Rojc & Simon Hudolin-Salci, and BKR (alias DJ Benjamin), a pioneer of Slovene club subculture who has been active for 20 years in Slovenia and abroad (Brazil, Ukraine, Croatia, Germany, Italy). Concerts included Slovene post-rock music band Sphericube and The Mifune from Austria, with hip hop, chillout, techno and jazz elements. The multimedia project Glamourbia combined art, photography, fashion design and music, while the graffiti session presented Miha Peperko (567 Group) with guests. | Launched in 2005 and run by Celje Youth Centre, Mediafest, festival of contemporary music and digital arts is a visual as well as audio event that aims to stimulate urban culture in the city of Celje.
