The European Affairs and International Co-operation Service of the Ministry of Culture fosters and facilites international co-operation in the field of culture with the aim of promoting Slovene culture at the bilateral, multilateral and regional levels.

The service co-operates in the preparation of international framework agreements and programmes, preparing inter-ministerial bilateral co-operation programmes and strategies and supervising and monitoring their execution. It directs Slovene international co-operation in multilateral international organisations, other multilateral connections (UNESCO) and regional initiatives.


The service advances and prepares promotional strategy for Slovene culture in co-operation with other ministries, diplomatic-consular representatives, cultural institutions and other organisations. It supports new initiatives in the field of international co-operation and manages records on the execution of projects.
