The European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations was launched in 2011 as the first African-European Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Migration Studies jointly run by four European and three African universities, including the University of Nova Gorica. The first intercontinental Erasmus Mundus study programme is devoted to the dynamics of the migration processes and globalisation in the 21st Century.


University network

The study programme is designed as a multidisciplinary programme and is jointly offered by altogether seven universities: the University of Oldenburg from Germany, the University of Nova Gorica from Slovenia, the University of Stavanger from Norway, and the University of South Bohemia from Czech Republic. Partner academic institutions from Africa are: Ahfad University for Women from Omdurman in Sudan, Makerere University and Mbarara University of Science & Technology in Uganda.


Programme outline

The two-year study programme emphasizes different perspectives on migration and intercultural dialogue. The Master course first begins with studying at two host universities (University of Oldenburg, University of Stavanger), in the second year the programme offers a possibilty of studying at any partner university.
