History
Due to continious lack of proffessional workers in education the long awaited Maribor Academy of Education was finally established in 1961. The Academy was founded one decade before the University of Maribor was formally established in 1975. With the Bologna Process, the graduate and postgraduate programmes were adapted to changes in university teaching: the three-year BA, two-year MA, and three-year PhD programmes were fully introduced in 2010.
