In 2003 Exodos Institute launched the competitive contemporary dance festival named Gibanica (Moving Cake) Festival of Slovene Dance. Held in Ljubljana, the festival showcases most outstanding works of the previous two seasons, which compete for the Gibanica (Moving Cake) Festival of Slovene Dance Award for best dance performance.

Beside the award for best performance awarded by an international expert jury, the festival also presents an audience award for best performance.
