Archaeological site with a small exhibition presents very important Roman military stronghold called Ad Pirum. It was part of an 80 kilometers long protection system of walls and strongholds that reached from Julian Alps to the Adriatic sea caled Claustra Alpium Iuliarum. Remains of that wall are definitely the biggest monument to Roman times in Slovenia. From 3rd to 5th century AD it protected Roman lands against breaches of barbaric tribes from the east.
