The Institute has conducted among others the following research projects: Slovene Linguistic Impacts on the Italian Dialect of Trieste (in progress), Dialectal Atlas of Slovene Istria and Karst (concluded in 2009), The Idea of Nation in the Slovenian Reformation of the 16th Century and its European Context (till 2007), and Etimological and Phraseological Research of Istrian spoken language (till 2001).
