Lutkarnica - Koper Puppetry Studio was established in 2004 by Maja Bavdaž Gross who has been active in puppetry for more than three decades (also the co-founder of Papelito Puppet Theatre). Lutkarnica produces performances, organises workshops for small and school-aged children, and also holds seminars for teachers. Lutkarnica also organises the Alpe Adria PUF Festival:

Lutkarnica also produces performances by the puppet theatre Teatro matita, organises the annual ethno workshop week Etno Histria, and regularly collaborates with Hobbit Theatre from Wurzburg, Germany.
