Built in 1760 the legendary house of the famous Ipavec family of doctors and composers is now a museum dedicated to the work of Benjamin (1829–1908), his brother Gustav (1831–1908), and Gustav's son Josip (1873–1921). Located in Šentjur, the Ipavec House contains an exhibition about the composers' lives and work, a wine cellar with selected wines, and a garden with an old lime tree decorated with a fountain made by architect Jože Plečnik. The house also has a wedding hall with a vine growing in the portal.

The Ipavec composers left their mark on the Slovene music of the 19th and 20th century. Gustav Ipavec in mostly known for his national songs such as Slovenec sem, Domovini, Vse mine. His brother Benjamin Ipavec wrote the first Slovene opera Teharski plemiči. Josip Ipavec is the author of the first Slovene ballet, the pantomime Možiček (1901), as well as the operetta Princesa Vrtoglavka (1910).
