MGL Library Book Collection is one of oldest editions specialising in theatre theory and research in Europe. Since its constitution in 1958, the MGL Library Book Collection has published over 150 titles, including theoretical works by Slovene dramaturges and theatre practitioners as well as translations of essential texts on theatre research and history. The collection is run by Ljubljana City Theatre (MGL) and since 2007 edited by the dramaturge Petra Pogorevc.

Ljubljana City Theatre (MGL) has under the title Knjižnica MGL (MGL Library) . These include theoretical works by Slovene dramaturgs and theatre practitioners (eg Dušan Moravec, Bratko Kreft, Josip Vidmar, Milan Skrbinšek, Ferdo Delak, Taras Kermauner, Draga Ahačič, Bojan Štih, Rudi Šeligo, Dušan Jovanović, Vasja Predan, Blaž Lukan, Tomaž Toporišič) a, eg Brook, Artaud, Craig, Grotowski, Barrault, Stanislavski, Meyerhold, Ionesco, Olivier and Jan Kott. MGL has also published translations of basic works like Theories of Theatre by M Carlson and the Dictionary of Theatre by P Pavis. }}
