The Social Activities and General Affairs Department of Jesenice Municipality is responsible for various cultural programmes and projects, including artistic creation, cinematography, libraries, museums, protecting the built cultural heritage, natural monuments and amateur cultural activities. The local branches of the Union of Cultural Societies of Slovenia (ZKDS) and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia (JSKD) facilitate the activities of local cultural organisations and act as mediators in respect of state and municipal funding.
Twelve local associations are members of the Union of Cultural Societies, among them the Cultural Association of Muslims and Croats, the Brass Orchestra, the Cultural Society Svoboda Tone Cufar Jesenice, some theatre and puppetry associations, the Association of Choral Singing Fans, the Association for Young Composers, the Jesenice branch of JMI, the film group Odeon Jesenice and the Foto Club Jesenice.
