Nights in Ljubljana Old Town festival have been going on since 1988 and its broad programme is traditionally presented in the last week of August. The concerts are held at 10 different, mostly open-air locations in the old city centre, each of them having a clearly defined programme concept (e.g. the stage in front of the City Hall – large ensembles, orchestras and big bands; Gornji trg – avant-garde jazz, etc.)

Programme

The musical direction of the festival is based around the genres of jazz, ethno music and classical music, fore-fronting an international selection of relevant musical creativity. The programme features top level Slovene artists and foreign performers who usually come from at least 10 countries, with the focus of the festival being young artists and contemporary music production.

The project also includes literary events, art exhibitions, dance performances, and different art workshops and round tables.
