The birthplace and home of Slovene classical philologist and lexicographer Maks Pleteršnik (1840-1923) was restored in period style and opened to the public in 1994. The birthplace and home of Slovene classical philologist and lexicographer Maks Pleteršnik (1840–1923) is situated in Pišece village near Bizeljsko. Pleteršnik Homestead, Pišece houses a memorial collection, opened to public in 1994. His Great Slovene – German Dictionary, written at his home in 1883–1894, was recently transferred also to CD media by the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovene Language.
