The childhood home of Slovene writer Lovro Kuhar, better known as Prežihov Voranc (1893-1950), was renovated in period style and reopened in 1970 by Koroška Museum. Prežihov Voranc's works belong to the pantheon of European and world literature. Preški Vrh, Kotlje and the scenery of Koroška were the inspiration of Prežihov Voranc's writings - literary pearls which portray the charms of Koroška.

The architecture of Prežih's cottage is typical of traditional Koroška dwellings, which use wood as the main building material. Numerous small and seemingly insignificant ornamental elements make the building and its interior homely. This cottage was his father's dream come true, and his mother turned it into an intimate home, passing on her love of books and folk traditions to her sons Voranc, Lojze, Anze and Gustl. The Prežihov Monument, created by academic sculptor Stojan Batič, stands nearby. On the hilltop above the homestead stands an oak obelisk with a motif taken from Prežihov's stories.

Part of the documentation relating to Prežihov Voranc is exhibited in Ravne Castle, where Koroška Museum and Koroška Central Library Dr France Sušnik are housed - see Prežihov Voranc and Leopold Suhadolčan Memorial Room.
