| + | Born in Veržej, a small settlement on the right bank of the Mura River, [[Slavko Osterc]] (1895–1941) was an important Slovene composer and music teacher. Ever since [[established::1963]] the town of Veržej hosts an annual traditional event called ''Osterčevi spominski dnevi''. In memory of the composer the Association of Cultural Societies Ljutomer, Križevci, Veržej, Razkrižje and the Cultural Association Slavko Osterc Veržej have commissioned a bust of the composer, created the Osterc Memorial Park, and opened a [[Slavko Osterc Memorial Room|memorial room]] at the Veržej Cultural House. | ||
