The very first beginnings of Slovene libraries in Carinthia date back to 1920s. In 1927 the Slovene Education Association, formerly known as the Slovene Christian Social Association, founded the first central library, which later became the Slovene National Study Library. During the Second World War and the Third Reich a large part of the library fond was destroyed or confiscated. Gradually, the library was reconstructed and the fond was increasing. In 1997, the library became a member of COBISS - Slovene Virtual Library network.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
