The Slovenian Cinematheque inherited its important Slovene film history collection from the Slovene Theatre and Film Museum, which was split between the National Theatre Museum of Slovenia and the Cinematheque during the 1990s. The Museum Department prepares exhibitions of posters, publications, photography and other museum objects in Ljubljana or as small displays accompanying film festivals. Several catalogues have been prepared in co-operation with the Research and Publishing Department, Slovenian Cinematheque.
