Opened on 20 October 1984, the Vaneča Memorial Room – District Committee of the Association of National Liberation War Veterans Murska Sobota is housed in a unique building of contemporary design which summarises the essential features of the basic type of U-shaped peasant house in Prekmurje, complemented by a memorial in the form of a maize loft (designed by Vlado Sagadin). The Memorial Room comprises an exhibition (photographs and documents) presenting a survey of the National Liberation Movement in Prekmurje during the Second World War. The building stands close to the site of the Battle of Vaneča of 20 October 1944.
