The Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) is an organisation of architects, urban designers, landscape architects, and spatial planners with a state licence to produce all types of plans in these fields. It was established in 2003, though it originated as the "Section of Architects, Urban Planners and Landscape Architects" of the Slovene Chamber of Engineers, founded in 1997. ZAPS has around 1,100 members and aims to improve the status of its professional members, and to influence positive changes in the Slovene environment. The chamber is a member of the L'Union International des Architectes (UIA) and the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE).

ZAPS provides architects with useful information on changes in legislation, hosts lectures and educational seminars, and organises competitions and exhibitions, including the traditional annual exhibition of the work of its members. It grants the Golden Pencil Award for the greatest achievements of its members in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, and planning. Since 2006 the exhibition is showcased at the "Congress of Slovene Architects" along with the award ceremony. Since 2006 ZAPS has been publishing also a quarterly Arhitekt Journal.

Since 2008 the House of Architecture – Hiša Arhitekture operates under the auspices of the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning with a mission to promote architecture through exhibitions, lectures and related cultural and educational activities.
