These people share a commitment to creative theatrical expression without remuneration, and are members of more than 100,000 amateur theatre groups. Amateur theatre activity worldwide comes under the auspices of National AITA/IATA Centres. Under its banner of universal understanding and education through theatre, AITA/IATA promotes cross-frontier co-operation, artistic enrichment and a sense of universal togetherness.
