The Library incorporates large theatre and film archives.
Some of them contain materials that have been collected since 1946 when the Academy of Acting (predecessor of the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT)) was established. The oldest is the collection that includes materials about the artistic, research and pedagogical work of the AGRFT, from essays to doctoral dissertations, manuscripts, sketches of sets and costumes, photographs, etc. One of the oldest is also the collection that preserves documents on Slovene partisan theatres during the Second World War. Manuscripts and other legacy materials by theatre and film directors, actors, historians, and former professors are also included in a separate collection.
Furthermore it is possible to search the collection with documents from two international institutions: the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR), which promotes collaboration and the exchange of information between individuals and organisations concerned with theatre research; and the SIBMAS International Directory of Performing Arts Collections and Institutions, which provides basic information about over 700 institutions with material relating to the performing arts and about the collections which are to be found within those institutions.
Yet another is the collection that collects materials on Slovene, European, and world theatre and cinema. It includes a library of recorded sounds, a library of film and video materials, as well as theatre and film reviews, newspaper clippings, posters and photographs.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
