Since 2007, Plesna izba - Maribor Dance Room annually organises the Contemporary dance Platform [Platforma sodobnega plesa]. The festival cropped up from the Young Dancers' Festival that grew out of the need for continual possibilities for presentation of younger Slovene dance makers and is closely linked to the education programmes of Plesna izba Maribor. The festival was warmly welcomed and appreciated by Slovene critics. 2014 and 2015 editions of the festival have been organised in collaboration with Performa Festival, run by MKC Maribor Youth Culture Centre.
