Background

In 1995 Slovenia took part in the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) for the first time, featuring the work of stage director and set designer Meta Hočevar. Later on the National Theatre Museum of Slovenia organised participation of a number of acknowledged stage and costume designers working in Slovenia, e.g. Alan Hranitelj, Ema Kugler, Dunja Zupančič (Noordung Cosmokinetic Cabinet) and Belinda Radulović.

PQ 2015

Meta Grgurović in collaboration with JAŠA, set designers of the ballet Tristan and Isolde, and a costume designer Ana Savić Gecan, create their installation Compressed Space vs. Extended Space curated by Barbara Novakovič Kolenc. It is on view 18-28 June 2015 at the at Kafka's House, in the scope of the Shared Space: Music Weather Politics international exhibition.

A group of students from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana and Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) presents their installation Silent Storm for the PQ Student Section at the Bethlehem Chapel - Lapidarium in Prague.

The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is produced by the Slovenian Theatre Institute and Muzeum Institute in cooperation with theatre houses and faculties, and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia Prague.
