The Valvasor Library, Krško was established in 1964 as a municipal library. At the outset its collection comprised some 2,100 units and its users totalled 410 registered members. Today the library is housed in a building of around 1,050 square metres and incorporates a periodicals department, a study-reading room with 40 seats, a youth department, a children’s corner and a local information collection. The library has branches at Videm and Kostanjevica na Krki. In 1988 the library took over the management of the Capucin Convent Library, Krško and a special room dedicated to its history.
