Rather than following a traditional scientific approach, the editorial policy stimulates trans-disciplinary pluralistic approaches to social phenomena and the presentation of contemporary theoretical concepts or translations (for example, Aristotle, René Descartes, John Locke, Hannah Arendt, etc.). Texts by eminent international authors as well as students attract feedback from readers both at home and abroad. The journal is published quarterly in Slovenian, with occasional abstracts in English and German.
Background
ČKZ was established in 1973 by a group of radical students and younger intellectuals who wanted to tackle contemporary social praxis in a critical way beyond objective scientific approaches. The book series Krt ("A mole"), first released in 1981, was a similar initiative that has been continued by the still active Krtina Publishing House.
