The gallery regularly presents works from the NLB art collection (originally curated by Stane Bernik) focusing on its different aspects including graphic arts, painting, sculpture, works by younger artists, etc. In preparation for these exhibitions, the gallery often collaborates with other Slovenian institutions, most prominently with the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana.
Other temporary exhibitions present current works in the field of visual communications, covering graphic design, illustration, and photography. From 2000 to 2014, these temporary exhibitions were organised by Emzin Institute of Creative Production.
