Dej š'en litro (that could be translated as 'Gimme one more pint') Brass Band was founded by accident in Ljubljana in 1999: the first four members met at a students' party where they simply played some songs together. Later on, other experienced brass musicians from the Primorska region joined the group. Today the group has a total of 26 musicians, although each performance usually involves 10-15 players. Its repertoire consists of different genres of music, from Slovene folk music and the traditional (gypsy) music of the Balkan region to jazz, pop and disco compositions. This music is played exclusively on brass instruments and percussion; the ensemble does not need any electrical equipment for its performance and can therefore move around freely within the audience and make the spirit of the whole performance more lively and interactive. The Dej še'n litro Brass Band annually performs about 25 concerts all around Slovenia and Europe (Italy, Croatia, Ireland, France, so far). They recently won second prize at the celebrated International Festival of Ethnic Music in Guča (Dragačevo region), Serbia. They also made a guest appearance at the Ana Desetnica International Street Theatre Festival in Ljubljana and both at the Jazz Cerkno Festival and Keltika International Festival run by the same organiser, Gabrijel Fest Cerkno.
