The Department of Design Library, Academy of Fine Arts and Design was established simultaneously with the Department of Design, Academy of Fine Arts and Design on Dolenjska Street in 1985. It has about 8,000 units of library materials. It is equipped with classic card catalogues and terminals. Since 1994, data have been entered into the COBISS/OPAC System.

It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage.
