The Department offers courses in film directing, television directing, film history and film theory. During the academic year, students pursue practical study assignments - each student shoots one short film and two short television dramas (on 16 mm film support or on video). Students also carry out a number of exercises in film and television directing, cinematography and editing. The Department collaborates with different Slovene ([[Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia)]], [[Slovenian Film Fund]], [[Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts]], etc.) and foreign (mostly Academies) media institutions and organisations. It is regularly presenting its students work at various international festivals of student film and it has been awarded several prizes in Tel Aviv, Angers, Poitiers, Edinburgh, Oberhausen and Munich. The Department also is a founding and active member of the Centre International de Liaison des Ecoles du Cinéma et Télévision (CILECT) and the Groupement Européennes des Ecoles du Cinéma et Télévision (GEECT). |
