In February 2012 the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Slovenia collaborated with Slovenian Cinematheque and supported the film retrospective of Iran's most renowned film writer and director Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi. The author, who in 2001 was also awarded in Cannes for his feature film Under the Moonlight (2000), was a special guest at the Ljubljana event. His five feature films were screened at Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana as well as at Kino Udarnik in Maribor.
