At eight of Slovene grammar schools pupils can obtain a German language diploma from the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Federal States in the Federal Republic of Germany. The support is coordinated by a German language advisor from the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). In 2008 five new partner schools got involved in the German language programme supported by the ZfA and the Goethe Institute.
