About the infographic
The interactive calendar includes the festivals from the Culture.si database, arranged by weeks. The annual festivalscapes have been provided since 2012. In the upper left corner, you can select a year to get the relevant annual calendar.
By clicking on a certain box, you get the basic data of the selected festival in the upper left corner. You can also select an artistic field (dance festivals, literature festivals, etc.) by clicking on the menu under the chart.
The numbers of the covered festivals (in parentheses) are subject to change. We invite festival organisers to send us the missing dates for their festival culture.mk@gov.si.

Background
Based on an idea by Jana Wilcoxen the infographic was developed by Jure Čuhalev and the Culture.si team at the Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory in 2011.

You can complement the above infographic with the timeline of festivals, which reveals the dynamics of establishing new festivals in Slovenia (since 1946).
A poster
A printed version of the Festivals in Slovenia 2012 calendar was designed by Atelje.Balant.
The printed version of the calendar of Festivals in Slovenia in 2012 contains 141 festivals. Later on, in 2019, the festival number rose to 199. Check out the current annual festivalscape!
