Founded in 2004 by Alenka Marinič, Dražen Dragojević, Gregor Moder, Maja Dekleva Lapajne, Sonja Vilč, and Tomaž Lapajne, Kolektiv Narobov is a Ljubljana-based professional performing arts collective and one of Slovenia's leading improvisation theatre groups that has developed a very unique approach to improvisation, comedy and storytelling, combining influences of physical theatre, contemporary dance, and clowning.

Production

Kolektiv Narobov has developed their own specific style by experimenting with improvisation in different performance contexts, from physical and experimental theatre to cabaret and music shows, radio plays and street performances and interventions, and collaborating with guest actors, dancers, visual artists and musicians. Apart from their work across different genres, the Narobovs seek to fuse their individual expertise in different fields (cultural studies and philosophy, social work and education) into new ways of understanding the role of improvisation as collective storytelling in a broader artistic and social context.

Since 2013, Kolektiv Narobov closely collaborates with Federacija Institute to improve their organisational, artistic and production opportunities. Kolektiv Narobov develops its works also in collaboration with international fellow co-producers, such as the Gorilla Theater (DE), Stockholms Improvisationsteater (SE), Combats Absurdes (FR), Theater im Bahnhof (AT), etc. Through intensive tours of guest performances across Europe and North America, the Narobovs have built a wide artistic network and developed it further through the annual Naked Stage International Improvisational Theatre Festival, which they initiated in 2002 within the KUD France Prešeren Arts and Culture Association.

Narobov has performed at several regional festivals, including Naked Stage International Improvisational Theatre Festival, Trnfest, Ana Desetnica International Street Theatre Festival, Lent Festival, Days of Poetry and Wine Medana, and at international festivals around Europe as well as in the USA and Canada.
