The Multimedia Institute and Academy (IAM) was established in 2000 with the aim of systematically researching and developing formal and informal education in the field of multimedia, applying modern telecommunication means and methods and using distance learning with a view to applying theory into practice. There are currently about 350 multimedia organisations in Slovenia, so that education in this field is urgently required. The Institute now offers a range of professional programmes in Multimedia Engineering which have been endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) and the Professional Council for Education of the Republic of Slovenia. Several international experts have been invited to co-operate and several students from Central and Eastern Europe have enrolled.
