The architecture of Prežih's cottage is typical of traditional Koroška dwellings, which use wood as the main building material. Numerous small and seemingly insignificant ornamental elements make the building and its interior homely. This cottage was his father's dream come true, and his mother turned it into an intimate home, passing on her love of books and folk traditions to her sons Voranc, Lojze, Anze and Gustl. The Prežihov Monument, created by academic sculptor [[Stojan Batič]], stands nearby. On the hilltop above the homestead stands an oak obelisk with a motif taken from Prežihov's stories.
