Established in 1956 to cover the south western part of the city, [[Prežihov Voranc Library]] is the newest public library in Ljubljana. The central unit is housed in modern and spacious premises at Ljubljana Vič, where material for all its branches is purchased and registered in the [[COBISS - Slovene Virtual Library]] system. Branch libraries are situated at Dobrova, Ig, Škofljica, Velike Lašče, Horjul and Podpeč and also in the Ljubljana suburbs of Brdo, Grba and Rudnik. Prežihov Voranc Library also has a mobile library which visits 25 villages and towns.
