The Slovene Association of Landscape Architects was established in March 1992 as an association of experts in the field of landscape architecture. Its mission is to promote the landscape architecture profession in Slovenia. It stimulates co-operation with other professions in solving special and environmental problems and international linking. The Association is a member of the international Federation of Landscape Architects and the European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools (ECLAS). Together with the Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Ljubljana, it organised the International Conference on Landscape Planning: 'Landscape Planning in the Era of Globalisation' in Portorož in November 2002.
