Named after the renowned ancient languages translator Anton Sovre (1895–1963), the Sovre Award is granted annually in recognition of the best work within the field of translating literary works. The award has been bestowed by the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators since 1969.


Among the more recent Sovre award winners have been: Saša Jerele and Urša Zabukovec (2017), Lijana Dejak (2016), Mojca Kranjc (2015), Borut Kraševec (2014), Tina Mahkota (2013), Branko Gradišnik and Branko Senegačnik (2012), Jaroslav Skrušný and Nada Grošelj (2011), and Primož Vitez (2010).
