The University organises 33 undergraduate and 26 postgraduate study programmes in six faculties, which comprise the following: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Management, and the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies are situated in Koper, while the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica and the Faculty of Health Sciences are located in Portorož and Izola respectively.
Research is carried out by two institutes – the Institute Andrej Marušič (UP IAM) and the Science and Research Centre of Koper (SRC Koper).
The University of Primorska is a member of several international networks: the Mediterranean Universities Network for Sustainable Development (SD), which focuses on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), the European Universities Association (EUA), the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), the Rectors' Conference of the Universities of the Alps Adriatic Region (AARC), and the Slovenian Rectors' Conference.
The University provides opportunities for student and staff exchanges within the following exchange programmes: ERASMUS, CEEPUS, and EGP Norway Grants. It holds bilateral agreements with universities and research institutions in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Kosovo, Mexico, Poland, Serbia, Taiwan, and the United States of America.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
