The daily newspaper Večer ("Evening") has appeared since 1952 and is the central newspaper in the eastern Slovenia published by Večer Publishing House. Its current print-run is 65,000 copies per issue and an online version has been available since 1998.


According to the National Research on Readership Večer was read daily in 2009 by 122,000 people, giving it an 7.1 per cent daily reach. Večer correspondent offices are located in Ljubljana, Celje, Murska Sobota, Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenska Bistrica, Ptuj, Ormož and Trbovlje.
