The Society encourages collaboration between historians and others interested in history. In order to popularise historical investigations and findings, it organises conferences and public lectures. As a regional organisation, it provides educational activities and assistance with research projects to its members and promotes research in Slovene history, particularly the history of Celje and its surroundings. The Society publishes exciting biannual historical journal Zgodovina za vse (History for Everyone), specialised in the history of everyday life and aimed for wider public appeal.
The Society promotes new scholarships in the theory of history and sociology and collaborates with teachers of history and offers assistance in teaching history and other related subjects. It is involved in active support for collecting, preserving and promoting cultural heritage by publishing materials about the protection of cultural heritage.

Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
