Since 2015 the Forum of Slavic Cultures International Foundation and the European Museum Academy have bestowed the Živa Award for the Best Slavic Museum.

The first Živa Award went in the hands of Blaž Peršin, the director of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana.
