Its founder and original publisher was from 1991 on when issued for the first time, the History Society of the Primorska - Koper Region. In 1994 the Scientific and Research Center of the Republic of Slovenia in Koper (http://www.zrs-kp.si) was set up; it began to operate in 1996 and has from then on been a co-publisher of the Annales Journal.
