Established in 1990 by painters Darko Slavec and Mladen Jernejec, Arthouse - College for Visual Arts is the first private professional college for drawing and painting. The first students graduated in 1997 and since that time the college has turned out approximately 8 to 9 graduates per year. The college offers four-year programmes in painting and drawing as well as in "Conceptualisation of Space" (covering video, film and photography), which was first offered in 2006/07. Recently the college has expanded its offer to long-distance learning studies in Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian languages and are also offering post-graduate study programme.
