Department of Design, Academy of Fine Arts and Design
After four years of undergraduate studies, it was possible to study an MA in Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design and Applied Arts, yet in the academic year 2011/2012
there will be no enrolment into postgraduate study programmes due to the change to the Bologna programme. The new postgraduate study programmes (2nd and 3rd cycle Bologna programmes) shall start in the academic year 2012/2013 only.
Students are offered workshops in Kaverljag (design, Kaverljag Summer Workshops), Liboje and Komenda (ceramics) and Rogaška Slatina (glass design), sometimes including international guest speakers. One of the most popular and widely attended is the typographic workshop TipoBrda.
The Department cooperates with several other departments of the University of Ljubljana, mostly with Department of Textiles, University of Ljubljana. Under the guidance of mentors the design students are involved in project work with a wide range of cultural producers, to mention only Ana Monró Theatre and Poster Festival Ljubljana.
