The Department of Library and Information Science offers four-year undergraduate programmes leading to a BLib degree. As yet no postgraduate programmes are available; however, professional training programmes for those members of the staff who have graduated from other faculties and have worked in a library for at least a year are offered by the National and University Library (NUK) in Ljubljana.

The Department of Library and Information Science has its own library.
