Emzin, the cultural NGO of creative production, is a non-profit organisation (zavod) that is active in the field of visual arts and publishing. Since 1990 the institute has published [[Emzin, Magazine for Culture]], dedicated to the promotion of art and culture with particular emphasis on graphic design and photography. Since 1997 Emzin has organised educational seminars on graphic design and photography involving acknowledged Slovene and international lecturers. To date Emzin has hosted Stefan Sagmeister (New York), Oliviero Toscani (Pisa), Paula Scher and Seymour Chwast (New York), Jonathan Barnbrook, Rick Poynor and David Ellis (London), April Greiman (Los Angeles), Luc(as) de Groot (Berlin), Philippe Apeloig (Paris), Alan Fletcher (London) and Stephen Doyle (New York) among many others.

Emzin, the cultural NGO of creative production, has been active in the field of visual arts and publishing since 1999. Its threefold activities are the publishing of the quarterly Emzin Arts Magazine, dedicated to the promotion of art and culture with particular emphasis on graphic design and photography; the organisation of the educational seminars on graphic design and photography involving acknowledged Slovene and international lecturers (since 2000); and the organisation of the annual Emzin Magazine Photography of the Year Competition.


Seminars and lectures

Emzin recently hosted the legendary American graphic designer Milton Glaser who presented his book Drawing is Thinking [Risanje je mišljenje] and featured an exhibition in the Vžigalica Gallery.
