The number of painters who submit work to the festival is regularly over 300 – generally 40% of participants are professional academic artists, while the rest are amateur artists who are eager to offer their creative work for comparative evaluation. Typically 1 in 3 works submitted is selected by an international jury and exhibited in either Piran City Gallery or in the Storehouse of Monfort Salt in Portorož.
